Divisional Charts:
Divisional charts are made from the main chart, known as D1 chart.
Example: Navamsha chart i.e. D9 chart is prepared from the D1 chart. While preparing D9 chart, the degrees are divided by 9 and planets are placed in houses based on laws. These are also known as varga chart or amsa chart. There are sixteen varga, or divisional, charts used.
If a particular is placed in exalted/own /trikone etc in various such divisional charts, then it is considered to be stronger/auspicious.
3. Four – the Gopuramsa or Naagpushpamsa or Kimshukamsa or Chaamaramsa
4. Five – the Simhasanamsa or Kundakamsa or Chhatramsa
5. Six – the Parvatamsa or Keralamsa or Kundalamsa
6. Seven – the Devalokamsa or Kalpavrkshamsa or Mukatamsa
7. Eight – the Kumkumamsa or Brahmalokamsa or Chandanvanamsa
8. Nine – the Iravatamsa or Poornachandramsa,
9. Ten – the Vyshnavamsa or Shridham or Ucchaishrvamsa
10. Eleven – the Saivamsa Dhanvantriamsa
11. Twelve – the Bhaswadamsa or Suryakantamsa
12. Thirteen – the Vaisheshikamsa or Vidrumamsa
13. Fourteen – the Indrasanamsa
14. Fifteen – the Golokamsa, and
15. Sixteen – the Shrivallabhamsa
