• Rahu and Ketu are known as shadowy planets as they doesn't exist in real.
• Rahu and Ketu in real are two nodes which are formed while moon crosses the plane of the zodiac.
• "Saumya" (benefic) and "Krura" (malefic) Planets: Surya (the Sun), Shani (Saturn), Mangal (Mars), waning Chandra (the Moon), Rahu, and Ketu are malefics.
• The waxing Chandra (the Moon), Budha (Mercury), Guru (Jupiter) and Shukra (Venus) are classified as benefics.

• States of the planets that assist in determining the effects a planet will give in it's period. Bala avastha (Infantile), Kumar avastha (Youthful), Yuva avastha (Adolescent), Vridhdh avastha (Old), and Mrita-vastha (Dead).
• A planet in Infantile state gives only 25% effects, in a Youthful state it gives 50%, in an Adolescent state it gives full effects, in an Old state it gives little effects, and in a Dead state it gives no effects. This Avastha is useful in determining the amount of effects a planet can give.
• Mercury is malefic if associated with malefics.
• Moon is benefic from ashtami tithi of shukla paksh to saptami or krishna paksh.

RELATIONS between Planets
There are some planets which are friend to each other while some are enimical to each other. This is known as permanent friendship chart.
Also depending of the planets in your chart, they can become temporary friends also.
